Dr. Howard Krausz, MD, PhD. Ophthalmologist
After graduating Harvey Mudd College with honors in physics, Dr. Krausz earned a PhD. in Neuroscience at UCSD. His research interest in vision and a desire to work with people led to a medical degree from the University of Miami, Florida. He was fortunate enough to return to UCSD for ophthalmology residency and then opened practice in Escondido in 1985.
Although the practice has grown into Hidden Valley Eye Associates, the philosophy remains the same: Provide high quality cost-effective care for patient’s medical and surgical eye issues, educating them about possible treatments and outcomes while respecting and encouraging their ability to make informed choices.
Dr. Krausz is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with particular interests in modern cataract surgery including options that help eliminate the need for glasses, and in glaucoma. When not working in dark rooms with no windows, Dr. Krausz loves being outdoors, especially doing wind and water sports. He is involved in attempts to preserve some of the critical remaining open spaces in North SD County.
